The End of Journalism in Putin’s Russia

The latest barrage of reporting from LR/DR founder and publisher Kim Zigfeld focuses on journalism and the lack thereof in Putin’s neo-Soviet Russia.

On Pajamas Media, she looks at Putin’s efforts to silence journalism he doesn’t care for, with an example of a foreign reporter being expelled from Siberia for telling the truth about living conditions there.

On American Thinker, she exposes the fraudulent reporting of Putin’s propaganda machine Russia Beyond the Headlines, with an example focusing on their gross misreporting of the Leonid Razvozzhayev torture saga.

Putin is now openly seeking to revive every key totalitarian aspect of the USSR just as quickly as he can do so.  And front and center is his policy of wiping out reporters who tell the truth and elevating those who will lie on his behalf.  Meanwhile, like the sheep they are, the bleating “citizens” of Russia stand mute and allow him to do so at best, at worst they loudly cheer.

I’m starting to believe that the average Russian has the mentality of a follower rather then a leader. One who does not know right from wrong, and who like a bleating ewe or ram marches to the slaughter house because his master, in this case Putin, demands this step be followed without any thoughts or consequences to their own future welfare.

Putin’s dictatorial regime suppresses and kills all independent thought, so that the masses can be exploited for the benefit of this latest Russian ‘fuehrer’ and his small clique of hanger-ons. Who are only interested in feathering their own nest.

Silly little Ukro — off you go and enlighten the heathen. As your due reward, your mathematical skills may very likely improve appreciably.

so, kleine shwaine, it is over for russia in syria – I predict that there will be more casualties before russia’s exit from there; russian ambassador to syria and his three body guards, perhaps….. russian

Thanks Pshek for agreeing and laughszczing with me.

So it doesn’t bother you at all to see Russia’s foreign policy collapse AGAIN in the Middle East, to see its very last ally there destroyed by American power, to see Russia humiliated AGAIN before the eyes of the world?

            • MCC ⋅

Humiliation is one thing, but to punish Russia for killing 40,000 innocent Syrians is another – let me corret it – it should be 65,000 – we have to add 25,000 victims of Asad’s father crimes at Homs committed in the 70ties with russia’s blessing and russian armament. Russia will be punished eventually…

I thought the thread was about journalism in Russia, or did I miss something?

            • Bohdan ⋅

Listen Manturd, dear, darling comrade GOON! Get this little, small point straight, you always “miss something.” PERIOD!!!

So – as far as you are concerned – what is new? NOTHING – same sh*t, just a different day!!!

              Until next time, bye ‘dearie.’

PS I love you, as you always keep on making my day! – ‘spasiba tovarish.’

            • larussophobe ⋅

If you thought the comment about Syria was irrelevant, then why did you respond to it? And why are you ducking our simple question? Simply gutless?

            • MCC ⋅

What kleine schwaine is saying that russia WILL BE PUNISHED for the crimes committed …

          • MCC ⋅

pszkszkto??? it means ‘what’ in your local russian dialetc, I presume……

          • MCC ⋅

hay kleine russkiye barakhlo – let’s talk about Syria, again, the russian weapon of muss destruction, sold to Irak’s Sadam Hussein, have been successfully, moved from Iraq to Syria just before American invation of Irak, thanks to extraordinary efforts by Evgenyi Primakov, according to the x-communist spy from Romania, Mr. primakov made 30 trips to Irak and Syria back and forth, securing the transfer of the russian WMD to Syria. Nevertheless, it has been proven that the WMD existed in Irak – the gassing of thousands of Kurds by Saddam is a proof…And now, the history repeats itself, Just before the hostilities in Syria, this time Cyryl a Patriarch of Russia and active KGB operative, went to Syria and Palestine just to pray with the muslim ‘infidels’, in reality the russian patriarch moved the Russian WMD from Syria to Palestine…Try to connect the dots, tovarpriskszcz manfred…..

Absolutely elated to express my malicious glee regarding Friday morning’s shooting spree (mind the rhyme, it’s deliberate). May there be many more like it, wiping out American parasites before they come of age.

    • MCC ⋅

Before you wipe out American parasites, kleine russkiye barakhlo, think twice – who will save your pathetic smelly ar#$es from starvation the next time.???????

  3. Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

Hey, what’s the deafening silence over here at LR’s?? I thought you’d instantly blame the Newtown shooting spree incident on good ol’ Vladimir Putin. Are you still busy concocting stories about it? Well, one thing is quite certain: Putin understands fully well that Yank baboons are fully capable of killing kids at home too. Let the world rejoice!

We are witnessing the third, and, hopefully, the last attempt to save collapsing russian ‘empire’, after the two previous ones in 1917 and 1991. This time putin is truly desperate to keep the ‘empire’ together, using the oldest tricks in the book – the kabuki theatre of so called opposition created by putin himself, and, at the same time, reopening the gulags to keep everybody under total control.. Putin and the russian ‘majority’ know very well that by giving any democratic freedom, or free election, will be deadly for Russia; every single nation, ethnic group under the russian control will vote for independence. Hence, manipulations, political killings, economic blackmail, etc., the modus operendi of russia all over the ex-soviet sphare of influence..After abolishing, any rights of non-russian nations, mostly muslim, including rights to their own territories, own languages, own history, own languages, and religions, putin will ‘successfully’ integrate the russians and non-russians and make the old soviet union working again – so russians are heading where they belong to the gulags….’paradise russian style’… Putin knows his own people they will march to the gallows WITHOUT ANY RESISTANCE….

      • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

Putin knows that a psychobabbling little Pshek can be put to death in Smolensk either by

        a) asking the Pshek to embark on a Russian plane to commemorate Katyn

        or

        b) let him show what happened that fatal day in the forest

Now, Ratzinger is desperate for a really juicy blow-job. Don’t keep your customers waiting, mccusa.

        • Bohdan ⋅

A ‘DICKHEAD” like you ManTurd would most definitely know about “a juicy blow-job.”

In this instance, speaking from experience I gather, aye? What say you comrade ‘kommissar.’ Go on don’t be bashful, as I’m all ears?

        • MCC ⋅

Everybody knows that Smolensk tragedy was simply political assassination courtesy of putn; – yes, dearie, the world knows already that the ‘low grade’ civil wars simmering all over russia just waiting to explode, makes russia more and more desperate.. Oh by the way, that Serbian representative to NATO, who slipped and fell to his death, courtesy of volodia putin, is, of course, another reason for rusians to be proud… Really, I thought that even russian barbarity and cosmic stupidity have its limit, apparently I was mistaken.. Come to think of it there was another Serbian, pro-western politician slaughtered by russia . ..Apparently, Russia loves serbia SO much they have to kill everybody who is not russian slave…MY QUESTION IS, OBOSRANYE RUSSKIYE BARAKHLO, what have you achieved by murdering pro-Western politicians. Actually NOTHING – Russia still cannot ‘arrange’ a summit with the USA, being totally ignored by the West, and totally ridicule by China, russian army still eats f@#$ing dog food, while the wistleblower, Major Matveev, is rotting in jail,….There is one thing I am so grateful to russia, though, everytime I see beautiful moscow with 80% of population being central asian muslims – I am overwhelmed by feeling of total happiness….thank you…

          • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?

Thanks Pshek for agreeing and laughszczing with me. Could you please detail Putin’s complicity in the Newtown shooting spree incident last Friday? Or don’t you care about Yank baboons at all?

            • MCC ⋅

So, we are in agreement, kleine russkiy katsap, russia is the laughing stock of the world, ignored totally by the West, and ridiculed by China. Russia’s modus operendi is pure ussr and czarist russia combined; First, the activation of the already created ‘frozen conflict’, military conflict will follow, with thousands of innocent victims murdered, russia then will request the summit with the USA to solve the problem created by the russians…There is one small detail that russian baboons are missing – NOBODY attends russia’s ‘summits’..By the way, it is so easy to predict the next ‘frozen conflict’ to become another war- South Caucasus, involving Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia..to be followed by Moldova’s request to join the EU – russia will try to stop the process [e.g., Georgia's case] and start a civil war, followed by a summit to solve the problem…

            • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

mccusa is no friend of Americans; just an utter braindead, useless parrot. American children can be massacred in whatever numbers without mccusa even taking notice. Yanks have got the friends they deserve all right.

              • MCC ⋅

What about russian children – they are like those abandoned children during the russian revolution of 1917 – bezprizornye. Any civilized country in the world will, first, take care of its future – its children – but russia is on the level of Uganda, Zaire or North Korea, as far as children are concerned, Russian children are considered embarrassment to be removed – russia prefers to spend millions on concocting revolutions, coups d’etat all over the world to prove russia’s ‘influence’ in the world – you really cannot get more pathetic than that!! That leads directly to Russia’s pathological obsession with the USA Why this obsession? It is simple; russia was dropped by the USA like a hot potatoe for good – the only way russia can go is down…to the delight of every country in the world…

              • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

Proves my point superbly — mccusa will not blurt out a single word even to console “the chosen people” of his. This means that Putin — if it pleases him — could pay any willing non-Russian to slaughter Yank baboons en masse without having to worry about our cocksucking little Pshek’s state of mind :-)

  4. MCC ⋅

Kleine obosranye russkiye barakhlo; How is volodia doing – apparently not too good. That pathetic dwarf, looks more and more like the lenin’s corpse in the ‘mauzoleum. I was teenager when I saw that revolting obscenity; staffed lenin in the box, and millions of russian slaves moving slowly paying the tribute to their syphilitic god. It was totally surreal; the only thing I remember were the lenin’s nails all BLACK This was truly russian/mongol/soviet horror at its best….

    • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

What was it like being laid by Ratzinger? You went to a Catholic Whoring School, did you not?

      • MCC ⋅

Thanks, obsoranyie russkiye barakhlo, for agreeing with me and with the millions of shocked and disgusted ‘toursits’ who saw that revolting mascarade called ‘lenin always alive’ – my question is purely retorical – don’t you russian baboons have ANY selfrespect whatsoever????????????
By the way, what russian grotesque and revolting behavior has got to do with the Spiritual Leader of my CHURCH OF ROME??? NOTHING… Gospodin pomilyui, forehead, foreskin, right arm, left arm sign of cross russian orthodox style..++++ totally revolting..

      • Manfred Steifschwanz ⋅

I cannot agree or disagree with you until you answer the questions. Psheks seem to be unconcerned with plain, basic common sense.
