The Keystone Cops fiasco that is known as the nation of Russia is moving into high gear. What were the Russians thinking?
The Miss Universe pageant Russia is staging in Moscow this month gives the world the jaw-dropping opportunity to see the worst Russian can be.
First, Russia attacked its own contestant, Elmira Abdrazakova, with a crude and brutal racist onslaught.
Then, it attacked the host. Regular Miss Universe co-host Andy Cohen, and open homosexual, refused to travel to Russia because of the country’s equally crude and brutal assault on homosexuals. Miss Universe named Thomas Roberts as the replacement for Russia, and Roberts is another open homosexual who has openly condemned Russia’s backwardness and brutality.
What were the Russians thinking? How could they possibly have imagined they could get away with hosting Miss Universe without being brutally humiliated, and how can they think anything similar about the Winter Olympics? Such events only give the world the opportunity to scrutinize Russia and gape slack-jawed at its backwardness.
UPDATE: When the dust cleared at the competition, Russia did not even make the top 16 Miss Universe contestants. Both the USA and Ukraine did, however.
