Putin’s Neo-Soviet Internet

Azerbaijan, Libya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Rwanda, and Sri Lanka.

Those are the wretched countries that pose the greatest risk to Internet freedom in the coming year, according to Freedom House.

That’s right:  Putin’s Russia is one of them.

Pages 408-421 of FH’s 2012 Internet Report examine the state of Russia’s Internet in horrifying detail, giving Russia  woeful 52 on a 0-100 scale of Internet freedom (with zero being total freedom) and classifying Russia’ Internet as already being party unfree.

It confirms that less than half of Russia’s population can access the Internet at all, which explains why polls show most Russians have never even heard about the leading figures of the Russian opposition.

It states:  “Since January 2011, massive distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and smear campaigns to discredit online activists have intensified. After online tools played a critical role in galvanizing massive anti-government protests that began in December 2011, the Kremlin signaled its intention to further tighten control over internet communications.”

None of this should be surprising, of course, given that Russians have just handed unchecked power for life to a proud KGB spy.

Welcome back to the USSR.

And Putin’s stooge and fellow KGB agent Yevgeniy Valentinovich Kasperskiy is set up to shut it down entirely…on the other hand, his pathetic efforts to protect the Iranian Mullahs from the struxnet virus where hilarious…thus giving us reasons to be optimistic about the lamentable russian fat buffon and his KGB-FSB “Lab” of Argameddon…..

Educate me if you can Ming my Friend. A colleague of mine who loves to tinker with computers and knows a thing or two about them has once told me that Kaspersky has been fined by some European court for spreading the computer virus he himself has created among users and then proposing his anti-virus program to eradicate it.

Have you heard about that incident?

How about free access to wikileaks, what with the Manning, Assange?

Wikileaks is ‘extraordinary’ investigating reporting tool,- ALL dirt on the USA but NOTHING ON PUTIN’S RUSSIA. Of course, if assange will say A SIMPLE negative on russia he will be drinking that tea with polonium SO fast he wouldn’t know that he is dead by poisoning. Vintage revolting russia. By the way, assange can be easily cought just simple blockage of the only toilet in Nicaraguan Embassy will do nicely….

You are wrong. WIkileaks published some dirth against Russia. Particulary diplomatic leters about corruption in Russian government.

I bought the Kaspersky anti-virus before I even knew it was Russian(I thought it was Polish, as Russians seem too dumb for that sort of things)…it was before Putin anyway, Eugen had his KGB uniform well hidden in his closet…found this anti-virus useless as with everything Russian…

Assange and Israel Shamir, AKA Joran Jermas the old KGB agent are fellow employee of Putin-Kaspersky-Wikileak.

Shamir-Joras had been tasked with supporting the terrorist Yasir Arafat from within Israel until he was unmasked…now he’s the big honcho at the Wikileak sabotage operation…

This all started before the Great War(WW I) when the Tsarina and the Kaiserina, who where close cousins got into a big family feud…The Kaiserina, who was the smart one, ordered the Prussian Secret Police to sabotage Russia, with a big wave of spies and saboteurs…of which where Lenin, Lev Bronstein(Trotsky) and the monk Grigori Rasputin.

The monk got whacked by Prince Felix Yusupov but Lenin and Lev carried on and eventually the KGB of Pooty Poot Poutine was created to enable the Russians to seed trouble worldwide seemingly forever!

  6. Putin is horrible! Did you hear the latest? Obama Putin plans to put Assange of Wikileaks on trial for publishing internal American Russian Foreign Ministry memos that make Americans Russians look like three stooges. Plans are to put him in either Guantanamo or Abu Ghraib or one of those numerous Eastern European torture prisons. So much for the freedom of the press and the Internet.
